Types of Shutters

Blinds ‘n’ More offers several different types of shutters as a window treatment to add a classic functionality to your home or business. Shutters are generally a pair of hinged panels that are installed inside or outside the window intended for treatment. However, Blinds ‘n’ More offers more than just the timeless classic style of shutters (the ever popular plantation shutters); Blinds ‘n’ More offers cafe shutters, exterior shutters, and Bahama shutters. Blinds ‘n’ More offers the cafe shutters (also called half shutters) window treatment style to add the practical function of privacy while still allowing the cheerful effect of natural light to enter the intended room. Cafe shutters are exactly what their other name (half shutters) suggests. Cafe shutters generally cover the lower half of the window to provide privacy to the occupants of the room and leave the upper section exposed to still allow plenty of natural light into the room for an added aesthetic effect. The cafe type shutters are well suited to a home’s community rooms such as a living room or a dining room. Shutters in the cafe style also suit bathrooms because of their privacy aspect and because they eliminate the need for harsh light by allowing natural light to filter through the windows. Cafe shutters are also complementary to a business’s dining rooms, meeting rooms, lounge areas, or other rooms that would benefit from added privacy and gentle natural light. Along with cafe shutters, Blinds ‘n’ more offers exterior shutters, Bahama shutters, and the best selling plantation shutters. The exterior shutters that Blinds ‘n’ More offers are sturdier and more durable than wooden shutters. Blinds ‘n’ More provides exterior shutters that are well suited to outdoor spaces that would benefit from optional wind protection, privacy, or sun protection. Exterior shutters are perfect for balconies, patios, porches, or other outdoor spaces that are in need of sun protection, extra privacy, or wind protection. Besides exterior shutters, Blinds ‘n’ More offers cafe shutters, the popular plantation shutters, and Bahama shutters. Plantation shutters are your classic pair of hinged panels that open or close to allow light or block it. Besides Plantation shutters, cafe shutters, and exterior shutters, Blinds ‘n’ More also offers Bahama shutters which are shutters that open outwards, vertically, and generally come to a forty-five degree angle. The Bahama shutters allow fresh air into a room while offering protection from rain or sun or excessive amounts of wind. Blinds ‘n’ More offers a variety of shutter options to suit the new look of your home or business.

Shutters add a premium, inviting ambiance to a room while elevating your existing décor. Choose from a variety of designer-inspired materials and finishes. In addition to their lasting beauty, shutters provide exceptional light adjustment with their movable louvers.

Plantation Shutters

Our most popular product, Plantation Shutters, are designed with functional louvers in a range of different blade sizes, allowing you to easily control lighting, privacy, and airflow in any room. Available in both real wood and composite wood options.

Cafe Shutters

Café style shutters are designed to provide full privacy on the bottom portion of windows while leaving the top half clear and open to preserve your view to the outside.

Exterior Shutters

More durable than wood shutters, Exterior Shutters provide great views when open and complete privacy when closed. Perfect for outdoor rooms, porches and other enclosed balconies.

Bahama Shutters

Bahama shutters are one piece window shutters that mount on the exterior of a home or commercial building at a 45-degree angle. They’re hinged at the top, making it easy for you to pull them over your windows before a storm. Bahama shutters can remain propped open at all times, left partially open, or can be completely closed for privacy.
